Dave Jerome--Started his boat building career working on 36' Tomahawk trawler in 1965. Worked at Schooner Creek boatworks building cold molded boats up to 42' for 3 years. Worked at Donaldson Marina doing wooden yacht repair for 3 years including the race boat P-100 as a crew member and mechanic. The boat was the class high point crackerbox for 2 years in a row Dave started his own business in 1991 and is still going strong.

Boats that have been and are worked on this shop include Century, Chris Craft, Mercury, Yandt, Lyman, Trojan, Garwood, Austin Healey.

Boat restorer Dave Jerome helped rebuild two restored Chris Craft runabouts that will be In Saturday's Antique and Classic Boat Show.

Professional boat restorer Dave Jerome was on hand with a pair of identical boats at the 1993 boat show at Riverplace. That's identical in that both started life in 1946 as 17-foot Chris Craft runabouts. But one was a prize winner while the other was just starting restoration. There's about a year and $25,000 separating the two.

Jerome said he would explain restoration at the boat show and would discuss the pitfalls and costs. He said many people do all or most of the restorations. "It's a lot of work," he said, "but there is something satisfying about it. I know several doctors that you can find out in their garage, sanding a hull."
